When I can smile at something that used to make the very core of my soul ache. I have grown. Love is the ordinance I live by for now and ever as I've witnessed a lack there of. It's 4:06AM and I'm sitting in my room surrounded by books, unpainted walls, unfinished drawings, pictures of me and my dad in Antigua, sketches, clothes, Philosophy articles.. It's all in the early stages. Everything seems so unknown.

Everyday I am reminded of love, and true joy. I am so blessed. My life isn't perfect but I'm sooo blessed. I've been singing more and more. I'm in the process from switching my major from art to dance?.. I don't know where I want to go after Santa Monica but the East Coast keeps calling me back.. We'll see. Family's shifting. I've been a vegetarian for one year last month [& thinking about giving up milk.. that stuff's no good.] I'm going to be an auntie. I'm writing again. Biking again. Running again.. just appreciating every step that I take. I don't know where I'm headed. Just know I'm already gone.

The sun is such and amazing wake up call. I've been doing some things with my room to get ready for school.. Throwing away old stuff, donating more clothes I don't wear and priming my walls. I used to have pictures literally covering every inch of my walls and when I took them all down my walls looked really bad, so I painted them white and one of my friends is doing a mural for me on the longest wall. But I took down my curtains when I painted and this morning I woke up to the sun and the california breeze floating through my french doors. Today's going to be an amazing day.

I don't dance at Hamilton anymore but most of my close friends still do. So I decided that it was only right to support them for the whole weekend. I worked all three shows. Sasha's dance was the only thing that I got to see three times. I got to see Brittany's solo on the last night and I watched Kaya & Nef's solos backstage. I also loved Brooke's piece and Seppy's Solo. Everybody worked it out. Everything was gorgeous from when i wasn't running around trying to find somebody's jazz pants or help copy and hand out 500 programs. I'm so glad I was there to see it!

I'm 18. This is a major milestone. I'm considered an adult...weird. I'm about to graduate from high school with a Theatre Major sticker on my diploma. "I got a certain lust for life/ and as it stands" I get it! I get why things happen. All the drama and stuff that went down within the gates of Hami don't even matter when I think of all the beautifully amazing things that have happened there. I grew soo much. Going in acting coming out having an appreciation and some understanding of a grip of different creative outlets. NIGGA I SANG ON OPRAH AND FOR OBAMA! Four years ago I was in Virginia dreaming about where I am now. There isn't a day that I'm not grateful for everything I've been through and everything I have right now. BFFL kept me in her away all day & TD came over and dropped off my favorite coldstone ice cream :)

Okay so Friday was prom. My boo Joey was a bomb escort & he drove the Gto like a pro..mm. I had my Champagne Party with one of my really good friends, Brittany & her gigantic date. We went to prom but stopped at CVS for those 5 hour energy things.. it was a riot walking in, in full prom attire. Prom was cute outside on Main St. at Sony Studios. Congrats to Matt and Sasha Fierce to winning Prom King and Queen! It was doope seeing everybody dressed up, I think that was the best part of it all..everybody was so happy and gorgeous looking!

I wanted to post a really good picture of me in my dress but I have to get them from one of the people that took pictures at the CP. Of course now my all white silk chiffon dress is ridiculously dirty after the fact though.. lol

If spring is new beginnings what is summer?

I would never wish my bad experiences on to anyone else. I'd rather take somebody elses' shit, take it off their shoulders and put it on mine.Whatever is hard right now know that you're living your life for this moment. The way you take on a challenge whether you take it as a blessing and let it positively influence your future or you ignore it shows a lot about a someone. Last weekend I learned to stop putting others' happiness before my emotions & Last weekend I learned to stop blaming myself and I finnaallly told somebody. (I released and I let go..lol) Last weekend I took craziness and self doubt and turned it into energy with only my best intentions at heart. So as I sit here typing breaking out in hives every time the sun hits my face I am just completely grateful that this isn't happening to my skin a week before prom :) Yesterday night.. EVERYTHING fell in to place. Everything happens for a reason.

I was incog for a while but it's time for a resurrection..This is what I've been up to..

THE LITTLE THINGS:

In switching up my room I noticed that I have a ridiculous amount of clothes; some stuff that I don't even wear anymore or haven't worn ever sitting in my tiny closet taking up space. Instead of burning old stuff I put all these clothes into a big black bag and I'm donating them to an Indian Reservation in need of clothing.

With the smaller work load at school from having fewer classes I've had a lot of fun spending extra time with my close friends. Happy Suuuper Belated Bday to Joi&Hakeem!

There are soo many people in my family but all of our birthdays clump together. My brother, sister, cousin and Omi all celebrated their birthdays within the last few weeks.. lots of cake.
I found out soy candles are better than wax candles for some reason..

My DSLR got soda on it after it exploded in my bag. Before the attempted bonfire i was heading to got disturbed by gunshots..that turned out to be fire crackers?! Does anybody know any good camera repair shops?

I'm always changing and what I wear and the way I style my hair changes with me. Lately I've been wearing more solid colors (esp. black, white & my favorite jean jacket..) instead of the patterns that make the selection of clothes in my closet so colorful. I've also been wearing my hair suuuper curly. I also chopped a few inches off my dreads.. just the damaged ends.. I'm not even sure how much I cut off since it's been so curly..

Life has been moving a little to fast for my taste lately. From not being able to sing on Jay Leno last Wednesday because I'm not 18, to DRAMA spreading were it shouldn't, to school stuff.. I'm slowly learning to take it in stride and except my challenges as blessings in disguise. This weekend was ridiculous. Amazing & draining. First time at LACMA first time getting hit on and not being able to slap back, first time telling the truth, 1000th time seeing my horns."PUSH" was ridiculous go see that mess.

I can't wait to start back dancing.. time to start choreographing for Revelations in the ATL. I Can't wait to start singing back up for some mad conscious artists and I cant wait to finish memorizing these monologues for my UCLA audition on Sunday. I feel like everybody at this age goes through yet another turning point. It's the time for us to choose whether or not our true dreams become a reality. For a while I didn't know what I was doing.. but you'll see a lot more fashion bits on this blog, a lot more pictures from the "inspiration" folder on my desktop. maybe even a new contributor..? *COUGH

We flew air betsyville.. i mean virgin america. It was cool cause you could chat with other people on the plane.. i guess it's a good way to hit on people lol. The plane was really cute and the food wasn't half bad but in my opinion nothing compares to JetBlue. There's more room and even though they don't have video games at every seat the service is a lot better.
